Review of The Flash (2023) by Reed618 — 17 Jun 2023
Probably the two main things working against are the poor attempts at humor and the cgi. The story itself is a bit too long and at times not well executed but overall quite good. Outside of a couple of jokes though the theater was pretty quiet.
Generally when it comes to cgi I never complain but not only was it at times quite bad... it was everywhere... I can't think of another film quite so dependent on cgi. There are some good moments in this film and some excellent performances. I really enjoyed Michael Keaton as Batman, he nailed it. Also, Sasha Calle played supergirl perfectly in my opinion. All in all not a bad film but not something I'd rewatch. I was pretty hyped for this one but it's a bad start to the new DCU, particularly unfortunate since Marvel has been losing steam lately in my opinion.
