Review of The Five-Year Engagement (2012) by Jackie T — 02 May 2013
Jason Segel and Nicholas Stoller co-wrote the very funny and charming "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" and the surprisingly brilliant reboot of "The Muppets" but this film is sadly nowhere as good as either of those.
While the overall romantic comedy story was not all that interesting or funny, there is a very good cast that includes Jason Segel, Emily Blunt, Chris Pratt, Alison Brie and many others, and there are quite a few funny moments along the way.
It's just too bad most of the funny moments are pretty much unconnected to the rest of the film. It's not bad, but I was kind of expecting more given Segal, Stoller and producer Judd Apatow's previous credits.
