Review of The Five-Year Engagement (2012) by Jade W — 10 Nov 2012
Funny romantic comedy staring everyone favorite Jason Segel, this movie follows a young couple who seem to be putting everything else before their wedding.
With the ever delaying engagement with everything else happening around them whether it be friends getting married and having children or in-laws passing away the engagement has been delayed for five years.
Going to university and moving away to a new town meant trying to start a new life what felt like a new world for both of them.
This really puts their relationship to the test , its make or break time and both not knowing what each other wants out of the relationship and its unclear of their future.
Lots of funny moments throughout everything you would expect from a movie of this kind but also has emotions flying around.
The trailer does show a lot of the funny moments which are in the movie but some of them have been cut from the movie as well.
Guy falls in love with girl.
They get engaged.
Girl wants to further her career.
Guy unable to get a good job.
Girl unhappy falls for another guy.
Both break up.
Both move on to someone else.
Doesn't work out.
Both get back together.
Happy ever after?
