Review of The Five-Year Engagement (2012) by Dan H — 26 Feb 2014
The film is around 35 minutes or so too long, but it's still pretty good nonetheless. It's got a great cast (Jason Segal and Emily Blunt have great chemistry and are super funny, Chris Pratt and Alison Brie make for a cute couple plus I love seeing Alison Brie in anything).
The film is more realistic about marriage (For most of the film it's almost like the dark side of marriage) and how life can get in the way, and it's got a nice small message in the end. Yes, the way the film wraps up relies a bit too much on the fantasy aspect, but overall, if you're willing to sit through an overlong film, it's good and the humor is genuinely laugh out loud at moments.
