With a genius idea, a relatable story, a charming script full of good dialogue written by Jason Segel and Nicholas Stoller, a great cast that includes Jason Segel, Emily Blunt, Rhys Ifans, Chris Pratt, Allison Brie, Mindy Kaling and a special appearance by Dakota Johnson, fine directing by Nicholas Stoller, funny scenes and sequences, a heartwarming message and a long but alright pace and flow, The Five-Year Engagement is a film for everyone that shows what happens when you want to get married but have to wait and put it off for many reasons.
