This movie sneaks up on you. It's a raw story of desperate dispair and unlikely redemption... and the performances by Jeff Bridges and Robin Williams are, in my opinion, the best of each of their careers.
Jeter, Ruehl (who won an oscar), and Plummer are also brilliant in their own right.
