Terry Gilliam who is best known for his eccentric special effects heavy films does a contemporary adaptation of the Arthurian legend of the Fisher King.

Although I must admit I don't see much similarity between the original and the film both feature the grail and at least one knight (which is the only surreal part that's featured in the film - a red knight as a nightmare vision for one of the protagonists).

A short sypnosis: Radio DJ Jack Lucas (Jeff Bridges) feels responsible for the death of some people after a shooting rampage by one of his fans. He falls in a slump until he finds Parry (Robin Williams) whose wife was one of the victims and who is turned nuts because of his loss and obsessed with the grail and the Fisher King tale. Jack helps Parry to attract his new crush Lydia and on his quest for the grail.

It's a decent film, with two actors I don't like that much (especially Bridges but he's not that detestable this time) but who are quite good. For me, as a Gilliam fan, it lacks the visual effects and the surreal dreams and visions that are normally regulars in his films.
