Review of The Fisher King (1991) by John Z — 30 Nov 2008
Terry Gilliam's knack for crafting charmingly bizarre films never ceases to impress me. It doesn't hurt that he's got a great cast and heartwarming story to work with, although I'd imagine that Robin Williams was fast becoming in the 80s/90s what Jack Black is becoming today: a tired cliche of himself.
Still, I think it mostly works here. And Tom Waits is the man.
