Review of The First Wives Club (1996) by Dave C — 12 Feb 2008
Watching 3 capable actresses get caught up in some overacting mania isn't my way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Over the top does not equal comedy.
As all the men are already bastards, the 'wives' actions leave you with no one to route for and the eventual lazy and irrelivant ending does not excuse what's gone on before. Yes it's only a comedy, but comedy is rarely funny if you don't like it.
