Review of The First Turn-On!! (1983) by Sarah N — 23 Jun 2005

That was the tagline of the 1983 Troma Team movie....or close to it since I came up with the title off the top of my head(the entry title, that is).

Now, this movie is a raunchy sex comedy and it's not for everyone where the subject matter is concerned. Yet if you consider yourself to be a sex comedy connisseur, or if you like sex comedies, then this movie would be good for you to watch.

This movie starred a young Vincent D'Onofrio, who would go on to star in Full Metal Jacket and Men In Black, and former Penthouse Pet of the Year Sheila Kennedy. This movie takes place at a summer camp for teens, called Camp Big Tee Pee where many of them(the boys that is) end up being initiated by older, sexy women(as seen in the movie). This movie is very funny, I was always in stitches. From the PA announcer who obviously speaks Valley Girl to money hungry owner this movie is a laugh riot.

There is a group of campers who go out on a nature hike with a female counselor. The group gets bored, and they wander off into a cave to smoke weed. There's one kid in the group who's overweight and has a whole knapsack full of food, most of which consists of cheese and other junky delights. The counselor gets pissed when one of the kids tells her where they went off to and heads over to the cave. She immediately smells marijuana smoke(she called it sensamilla(sp?) ) and makes her way in to the cave. She catches them and is appalled. Yet, the overweight kid in the group farts as a result of his cheese consumption loud enough to cause loose rocks and boulders to block the entryway of the cave. Everyone is pissed and some panic.

After a while they all start to share their stories of the first time they had sex. Of course after the flame in the lantern starts to flicker and then goes off, panic sets in since this was a sign of lack of oxygen in the cave. After some are upset as to what their fate is going to be, they confess that they lied about the stories they told. Most of them are virgins still and refuse to die as one. Of couse, this leads to them having sex as a way to comfort one another. Of course, the collective moaning and groaning from everyone is loud enough for the earth around them to start shaking, causing the entryway to clear. Once it's cleared, they run back to camp.

Now, I only chose to tell you all the parts in the movie that I thought were important, allowing you all to go out and by the DVD yourselves to watch the whole movie.

This movie kept me entertained from beginning to end always laughing as well. Some think it's a cheesy movie with a lot of T&A(Tits&Ass). Me, I could care less about the T&A since I like cheesy movies with or without the T&A.
