This could have been a great film that showed the beginnings of "the purge" and how people handled such a crazy thing, but instead this movie is only intent on taking advantage of the franchise to push a racial political statement all while insulting our intelligence over and over again.
Of course all the bad guys are white and all the good guys are black! And lets make most of the bad guys be white dudes with KKK hoodies on. All the while, you get no answers or feel for how the real first purge really would have been.
And why did most of the people, except for a few gangs, have guns? Needles taped to a hand, knifes, dolls that blow up while you laugh.. just horrible writing.
