Review of The First Purge (2018) by Frederick O — 06 Jul 2018
I am a fan of the Purge series. However I can't help but acknowledge the fact that the purge movies have become increasingly socio-political in nature, especially in regards to race and the theory of de-populaiion.
If you completely ignore the theme of race and racial genocide, this is a very good thriller/horror/action movie. I don't like the fact that our government has allowed such racially charged and riot-inciting movies to be shown to the public.
It's clear that movies like this are government approved and they know (or beleive) that this movie will stick in people's minds and make them think a certain way. Think about the first purge.
It had no racially motivated themes. It simply took place in the suburbs and entertained us with no particular audience in mind. Fast forward to Purge 3 and 4 and we clearly see that blacks and Hispanics are frowned upon! Wake up folks.
