The original film in the franchise advanced an intriguing premise as the story. The premise might be more interesting than the actual execution to which it lends itself. Saying that, this installment is the best in the franchise since the original.
It delivers the back story of the premise, which I found to be the more compelling aspect of watching. I think they're onto something here, and seeing the evolution of the purge annual event would bring me back for installment #5.
