That Pollack guy made some good movies with bad bad scores. I met him once and he was super nice but I kept hearing this terrible music in my head. Anyway, this movie is pretty solid. I'm a big fan of Evil Wilford Brimley.
Cruise's acting repertoire, however, ranges from intensely focused to really intensely focused. For a much better Pollack thriller see Three Days of the Condor.
