Review of The Firemen's Ball (1967) by Chris B — 03 Apr 2012
Heavy with the influence Jacques Tati, but not as successful. Czech dudes ogling pretty young things, carefully calibrated chaos, this has some beautiful. highly attentive choreography/composition and Criterion's transfer is, not surprisingly, gorgeous.
Slight, though. Which I suppose is the point.
