What could/should have been a much better film was reduced to a waste of 3D and special effects with muffled dialogue that was hard to understand at times. It totally fails to get the viewer to care enough about the characters.
Neither the surviving crew of the tanker in distress, the Coast Guard heroes who go out to try to save them nor the friends & loved ones back on land. Don't spend your $$ on the 3D version..., wait for Netflix.
There are much better films to see in theaters right now.
