A magnificent movie. The effects are heightened by the wonderful way the camera plays on the seamen's faces and the one woman's visage. It's a simple story told well. And despite the importance of the special effects, it is about individuals and love and comradeship.
Usually one sees these elements in a war movie, so it's refreshing when there is no human enemy out there, but an even more elemental one.
