Review of The Finest Hours (2016) by Gracey B — 12 Jan 2016
You have to go out, but you don't have to come back. Well, this isn't the Coast Guard; so you don't have to go out to see the Finest Hours and I wouldn't.
Filled with dreary, visually uninteresting scenes of men on boats, there are maybe two scenes of mild suspense and action. And these scenes are predictable and lackluster at best.
Miriam, the only female character with decent screen time is, of course, the love interest of the main protagonist Bernie Webber. The character is lazily written into the story, and is more of a distraction than a important plot element.
One last note, skip the 3D on this one. It was hardly noticeable, I had to take my glasses off a couple of times to make sure it was actually being projected in 3D. Not worth the extra money.
