Review of The Finest Hours (2016) by Bob S — 27 May 2016
Yes, the CGI is good but this shipwreck of a movie is ruined by phoned-in acting and a completely predictable Hollywood storyline. Despite gale force winds, blinding snow storms and raging waves, whispers are easily heard (you could hear a pin drop) no one shivers in sub-freezing weather, the makeup is perfect and clothes are dry-clean spotless.
As the ship careens from side-to side the crew stands perfectly balanced with hands at their sides. And of course we get the melodramatic sound track and macho one-liners.
