Review of The Final Destination (2009) by Daniel P — 21 Nov 2012
Crud. This fourth entry into the increasingly oxymoronic titled franchise feels INCREDIBLY cheap. It has none of the first and second films' black humour or sharp scares, and also lacks the goofiness of the 3's concept.
Instead, most of the death sequences work as carbon copies from the back-catalogue, the effect diminishing more and more as the scant running time ticks by. The script is truly dreadful, the 3D utterly ineffective (and due to its limitations the deaths are hideously signposted), the acting appalling.
There isn't even a Tony Todd cameo to enjoy. SKIP.
