You know a horror franchise hits complete rock bottom when the latest installment becomes more hilarious than scary due to its inexplicably awful nature. I've seen many cases of bad acting, but this is of a different scale.
The characters care nothing for one another, they don't care about each other dying, even the closest of friends, the deaths of which can be seen a mile off, despite their admittedly impressive imagination, albeit insanely stupid.
All of the films of this series have felt pointless, but this film feels even more so due to its predictability. I expected to walk out of the film feeling disgusted at the seeming idolisation of blood and gore, I did not expect to be disgusted by the god-awfulness of enginuity of the film, or even to be surprisingly so amused by it.
