Robin Williams in a sci-fi movie... who'd have guessed? I really enjoyed this premise. The idea of having a chip embedded in your head before you are even born, so that every single experience is recorded for your loved ones' viewing pleasure when you die - well, it definitely raises a lot of issues.

The film explores those issues through Williams' character, whose job as a "cutter" (editor of the chip's footage once someone has passed) gives him access to people's most private and intimate moments.

He sees people for who they truly are, and yet the ethical code of his position requires him to delete the offensive scenes. Protesters rage at him when he leaves his office. They don't want their private lives to be on show.

But once the chip is implanted, it's permanent. Is it ingenious technology? Or Big Brother to the max?
