Review of The Final Conflict (1981) by Jon W — 03 Jun 2007
Decent sequel and a big improvement compared to The Omen II. Sam Neill, in one of his earlier roles, plays Damien, all grown up and now a powerful political figure. I liked this one because there wasn't too many scenes focused on people discovering who Damien was, them trying to kill him, failing, and then repeat.
Instead, it's basically a good versus evil story. Damien has started his own following and the second coming of Christ has just taken place so Damien's asking everyone loyal to him to kill the newborn boys.
It really isn't that bad and it's got some pretty good scenes. Neill did a great job and I liked his scene when he's "praying" to Satan. And I think this is the first time I've ever scene Jesus behind the cross instead of in front of it.
