Review of The Final Conflict (1981) by Lloyd D — 26 Aug 2010
The 2nd sequel of the omen films moves away from the slay the family and foes act and concentrates more on Damian more worried about the 2nd coming. But theres a sect of monk warriors armed with the daggers after him as well to play pin the dagger on the kid jackel.
Sam neil plays the role brillantly with a fine supporting cast but sadly apart from knocking off monks they give him very little to do. The opening scene with him taking out the 1st embasstor is impressive but afterthat the kills simply get tired and done way beeter before and since.
The baby killings seemed like a way to wake up the viewer but I found it in bad taste even thu its toned down. The ending however is satisflying and reminded me of radiers of the lost ark. A step down from 1 and 2 and its mildly entertaining at best but its better then the next two that came out.
