Review of The Final Conflict (1981) by Richard B — 09 Oct 2010
Well this film film opened up so nicely but very quickly fell flat with bad dialogue and terrible directing.
The script had it's moments don't get me wrong and it had some good ideas, as well as a couple of good deaths on par of the first Omen film.
But it clearly needed another draft as some parts either dragged, just to move plot along or the tension was not there at all.
The main thing that kept this film going was Sam Neill as Damien, who was fantastic in this and gave a great performance and was always interesting in the film.
I also felt the director added to the problems with scenes that dragged on when they were suppose to build atmosphere when it cleary didn't.
Final word.
Poor film but has it has it's moments with a great performance from Sam Neill. No where near as good as the first Omen.
