Cagney plays nicely against type as a soldier in the First World War finding out that he doesn't have the courage to back up his tough-talking attitude. Many regulars from other Cagney vehicles appear here, such as Pat O'Brien as.
...wait for it....the unit's Chaplain Duffy. It's an easy watch at around 90 minutes, with some great realizations of trench warfare and the inevitable redemption of a character (guess whose).
