Review of The Fighter (2010) by Regoz — 04 Apr 2012
I do like this movie, but I do not love it. The performances were great -except from those one of the sisters- and evidently, the relationship between Mickey, and the other characters is portrayed realistically yet, at times it feels shallow.
The characters are stereotypicals and often bordering the caricaturesque... somehow forced. Finally, I would have loved to see a bit more of Micky training, and the whole inner and outer process he undergoes before he becomes the world champion, because obviously, his personality evolved.
Sadly, in the film, there is almost no transition from old Mickey to New Mickey. It was a two hours movie; paradoxically, considering its length, I expected much more...
