As good as my favorite movie of last year, The Wrestler. Similar great supporting roles and sympathetic hero. Christian Bale and Melissa Leo should get nominations for best supporting roles...Amy Adams might get a nod as well.
Only reason I don't give The Fighter a 10 is Mark Wahlberg's good,but not exceptional work as main character. Some critics have not liked the humor that pops up from time to time in the movie. I could not disagree more.
..this is exactly what makes the whole thing work.Watching crack-high Bales dive out the window to avoid his family is priceless and sad at the same time.
