"The Fighter" is not really about boxing. Boxing is just the means to tell a story about family. The movie shows how, on the one hand a family can be an obstacle. But on the other hand, it is nice to know there is always someone standing behind you.
One just has to find the balance between one's personal autonomy and a family commitment. It is interesting that we all try to first rid ourselves from dependence, but then strive to found a family in the first place.
"The Fighter" has pretty good acting, as well as good filmmaking. Worth watching.
