Superb. The best part for me was the comedy offered by the female characters and Bale's perf as the crack addicted half brother. The story was told without silly camera moves or other self-indulgent nonsense so often deployed by Spike Lee, Scorcese, Tarantino and Aronofsky.
Simple effective and engaging entertainment.
