The principal characters - Wahlberg's gounded soul, Bale's troubled druggie cloud, the mother's controling nature - are superb. Kind of a 2010 version of Rocky. However, the supporting cast of the seven trailer park trash sisters were just too stereotypical.
Bale should receive a supporting actor nomination.
