Review of The Fighter (2010) by Phil D — 17 Apr 2012
Well-acted and it definitely made me pull for the Mickey Ward character. The rest of the family was SO over-the-top dysfunctional that it made it tough to be on their side at all. I kept hoping they would go away.
Without Mickey, I would have hated this film. Oh, Christian Bale does a masterful job, but what a terrible character. The film is effective in what it sets out to do though.
