Being a native Bostonian himself, Mark Wahlberg is perfect as Micky Ward. Ward is a fighter from Lowell, Massachusetts. He's somewhat of an underdog at first, losing most of his fights. Through the help of his brother Dicky Eklund, played by Christian Bale, Mickey is able to overcome some of his troubles, and start winning more fights.
Since it's based on a true story, "The Fighter" is a truly heartfelt tale. Supporting cast members Christian Bale, Melissa Leo, and Amy Adams help make this movie one of the best of the year.
