Wow is all I can say. I hate boxing movies, I mean HATE boxing movies. However, this movie is already at the top of my list. Though the movie focuses on Mark Wahlberg (who did a fantastic job), I feel that both Christian Bale and Amy Adams shined much brighter.
Bale can play such versatile roles; how many actors can go from Batman to crack addict?! Not many. You almost felt sorry for Bale. Also, boxing was the 'suggestive' theme however I think it focused more on family drama and values which added so much dynamic.
I just simply LOVED this movie.
