Review of The Fighter (2010) by Aden B — 04 Dec 2012
I've always liked Christian Bale, a very versatile boy, and he steals this movie. That's no criticism of MW (I also have time for him), who is also very good in this movie, but Bale gets to play more as the more colourful personality.
Obviously boxing movies tend to get compared to Raging Bull and Rocky, both of which are firm favorites of mine, and The Fighter treads the line between these nicely. Definitely worth a watch. The clip of Micky Ward and Dicky Eklund as the credits role show just how right both Bale and Wahlberg get things.
