Review of The Fighter (2010) by Dina B — 05 Feb 2013
If it wasn't based on true events I would have found The Fighter's plot very stale given how everything climaxed and got resolved quite predictably. The fact that it's an autobiography adds a lot to The Fighter's credibility and so do the performances.
Everyone in the cast delivers their role top-notch, but I was especially mesmerized by Bale's performance. The degree of commitment he shows to the character is incredible whether it was his physical appearance or how he displayed all the little details of Dicky Eklund's personality to perfection; the talking walking and the slightest twitches.
However the movie does take more than a while to really kick in, but once it does it takes on a very appropriate pace.
