The Fighter is maybe one of the most welcomed surprises for me this year. Heard it was good, but the trailers really don't do this one justice. Maybe it's because I've seen a countless number of boxing films, but somehow they continue to capture my attention.

The Fighter isn't really all that much different from those other boxing films, it's just more entertaining than most of them. Mostly, thanks to an incredible script that really snaps with dialogue and memorable lines.

I also gotta give credit to The Fighter's fantastic soundtrack that picks all the right songs in all the right places. Lastly, but certainly not leastly, the acting in this movie is fucking awesome.

I never realized how much of a character actor Christian Bale was til I saw him here. The guy will literally become the role of pretty much every movie he undertakes. Melissa Leo is also building quite the powerful resume lately and plays the role of overbearing Bostonian mother to perfection.

As always, I'm completely infatuated with Amy Adams, and adding a Boston accent to that red hair and big blue eyes only makes my heart grow bigger and my pants grow tighter. Seriously, this chick probably didn't work out once for this movie and shows quite a bit of skin in such a natural way that really makes you wanna tickle your nutsack.

David O. Russell may be a total asshole in real life but he fucking knows how to make a compelling picture. Between this and the vastly underrated Three Kings I am a true fan of his.
