From rocky 1 to rocky 5, you've seen this film before. It's reels you in mark wahlberg eternally likeable in this, wanting him to succeed. The lesser son manipulated by his aggressive mother, forever in the shadow of his hero brother. Bale is sensational, his performance of a crack addict and gets dicky's voice perfect. Melissa Leo is also very impressive. The romance between Charlene and Micky is solid, believable and touching.

So despite you knowing where it's going, it's really enjoyable and done well, and once the restrains of "how do you like me now?" Kick in, you are well on board.
