Review of The Fighter (2010) by Botond D — 08 Jan 2014
Based on a true story of two brothers, both talented boxers, who are each weighed down by heavy burdens. One become addicted to crack, the other by family loyalty. The fights with there own demons are as brutal as any challenge they faced in the ring.
The drama is brought to life by the great casting of Wahlberg and Bale. After seeing this, I want to learn more about the HBO documentary that was made on crack addiction and this family that was featured in the film.
Full of nuanced acting and a hard but uplifting message, this is character drama at its finest.
