Review of The Fighter (2010) by Truman B — 26 Jan 2014
The first in David O. Russell's yearly trend of incredibly beautiful and darkly humorous dysfunctional family films (followed by Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle), The Fighter is an amazing biopic, but also an examination into people who make poor choices despite having great intentions.
Christian Bale, Mark Wahlberg, Melissa Leo, and Amy Adams are awesome. The cinematography is spot-on (especially the fight scenes shot on TV cameras). There's nothing to hate about this movie.
