Review of The Fifth Estate (2013) by Vanessa M — 24 Oct 2013
The Fifth Estate is less showy and shiny Hollywood, more wtf should I be feeling? It is one of those rare movies that are particularly socially poignant, compelling, and still manages to be entertaining. The Fifth Estate is a film.
Designed to challenge preconcieved ideas and encourage dialogue. I feel it is the most socially poignant film to be released in a very long time.
As a side note, Benedict Cumberbatch was brilliant as Assange, taking on his mannerisms and portraying the confusing hero-jerk so completely that he succeded in making me forget for a moment how much I utterly adore him.
