Review of The Fifth Estate (2013) by Tony H — 13 Nov 2013
Such a shame this film, leading with two phenomenal actors but were never that convincing in their roles. Although the film visually looked fast paced, it was never really felt as an audience. Lots of things happening but felt unexciting and confusing mostly.
Maybe audiences needed to have been briefed about Wikileaks before going in the film. I mean I knew bits and pieces, but maybe not enough to have made sense of parts in the film that was not properly explained.
The perspective was contradicting and conflicted, and although we are encouraged to keep an open-mind at the end, the large majority of the film felt pretty one sided to me.
