Review of The Fifth Estate (2013) by Jennifer L — 23 Feb 2014
The execution of this film pales in comparison to the acting of both Cumberbatch and Brühl. A disappointingly flat thriller that could have been much better. Stylistically dated this is a missed opportunity to create a tense, interesting thriller about one of the most interesting and captivating stories of the present.
No immediacy or tension here. Better off watching the documentary.
