Review of The Fifth Element (1997) by Rinaldo H — 16 Apr 2014
BAD! It is so generic that, despite its attempt at a lighthearted action packed approach, the the all to familiar story will bore you to tears. Throw in a bunch of weird and just plain stupid moments such as blue chicks singing opera for twenty minutes and Gary Oldman delivering terrible dialogue in his worst performance ever and you have a true stink-pile.
The film also has the single most annoying character ever: Ruby Rhod, played by Chris Tucker. The fact that Bruce Willis actually tried in this role and gave a great action hero performance just annoys me more because it goes to waste when the film is this awful.
Do yourself a favor and avoid it.
