Review of The Fifth Element (1997) by Alec B — 13 Mar 2016
Somewhat of an oddity among blockbusters, so deliberately weird and nonsensical that it's a wonder that the movie was a financial success (let alone that it was even given a significant budget). The plot always seems to be teetering on the verge of becoming a disaster but the outlandish visual designs and quick pacing ensure that it's nothing if not entertaining.
