Review of The Fearless Vampire Killers (1967) by Neil O — 29 Jun 2008
A delightful satire of Hammer horror films, "The Fearless Vampire Killers" becomes a comedy of errors from the very first moment. While it's funny, it also has some genuinely chilling moments mixed in with the comedy.
It is elegant and moody with great performances all the way around, excellent art production and photography, perfect musical score. There is a campy humorous almost fairytale quality to the film yet it retains an uneasy underlying mood and atmosphere of the dark and occult.
