Review of The Fearless Vampire Killers (1967) by Augusto A — 09 Dec 2008
It's great that it still takes the horror seriously even when the main focus is on the humor. It succeeds at exploring the comedic aspects of dark situations, and the general mood of the film is complex and very well crafted.
It also succeeds at nearly every single technical aspect just as well as it succeeds at atmosphere. The camerawork, art direction and score are particularly worthy of note. My only complaint is that it does move a little too slow at times, but it's nothing that would spoil the fun.
