Review of The Favourite (2018) by T K E — 16 Jan 2019

Brilliant characters and performances. Witty dialogue delivered so artfully that I want to see it again to fully appreciate it. It is remarkable how these three female characters subvert sexual expectations and power relationships both historically and in the present sense.

The ending is a bit perplexing and I had to question whether the director knew what they were doing or didn't know how to end the film. That is the only problem I had with this film but I am more willing just to overlook at it because the rest of it is just brilliant.

Overall it's clever and captivating.
