The film is like an exquisite painting that transports you back in time, enveloping one in the harsh realities of the period. There are no blinders or kid-gloves for those accustomed to viewing life depicted as the typical Hollywood fairytale.
The acting, cinematography, and music add the perfect ambiance to the film. If you are one that appreciates Kubrick's Barry Lyndon, most likely you will enjoy this film as well.
