Went to see a new movie: The Favorite. DON'T BOTHER. Although the movie was entertaining, it involved social politics within a queen's court, it had a nonsensical ending that spoiled the entire movie.
The ending involved unnecessary, gratuitous animal cruelty to a bunny. ï¿ 1/2 1/2 1/2ï¿ 1/2 1/2ï¿ 1/2Â?ï¿ 1/2 1/2 1/2ï¿ 1/2 1/2ï¿ 1/2Â?ï¿ 1/2 1/2 1/2ï¿ 1/2 1/2ï¿ 1/2Â? UNACCEPTABLE.
People around me all gasped in disapproval. I didn't go there to see THAT. I thought the movie might be something like Valmont, if that was their intention, they failed miserably. Like one of those animal snuff films, the queen's lady for no reason starts to squish this adorable little bunny under her shoe (the bunny was one of the queen's pets), then at the last moment she backs off.
Bunnies have very delicate digestive systems, even though she backed off, the animal could still end up with a life ending injury. This scene did not add any value to the movie, flagrant gratuitous violence.
This type of scene inspires sickos to replicate the cruelty of this act. Makes me wonder if someone behind this film is a sick pervert.
